Commonality

We all have the same origins - all life on this planet has the same beginning. All beings are related. All humans are related. The starting point is shared beginnings, shared experience, a shared home.

Inequality

One of the main roots of suffering is the artificial distinctions we make between ourselves. We distinguish by skin colour and make others suffer. We distinguish by gender and others suffer. We distinguish by species and countless suffer. We want equality with others, but deny this to those under our own power.

Equality

As Seekers, we believe in the equality of all. We do not imagine ourselves better than other beings. We also do not imagine ourselves as less than any other.

Titles

In addition to our advocating for peace by not consuming and exploiting others, we also advocate for peace when we refuse to use honorific titles for those who might be under the illusion that they are better than others. We are all sisters, brothers, siblings and - perhaps for other species - cousins. To use an older term, we are all sibbs!

Creating Peace

There are many ways to create peace. Of course, it starts with ourselves. Living in equality is a step on the path.

May all beings know peace!

Seekers of Peace

We are not of this world, but are redeemed out of it. Its ways, its customs, its worships, its weapons, we cannot follow. For we are come into the peaceable kingdom of Christ, where swords are beaten into ploughshares and spears into pruning hooks, and none shall hurt nor destroy. — George Fox, Epistle 203 (1659)
